Review

The first thing you'll notice when playing BB Tanks is how similar it looks to Gunbound. Gunbound has no monopoly on the turn based strategic shooter genre, but it is painfully obvious how desperate the designers of BB Tanks were to make their game look and feel like Gunbound. The menus, and even the lobby screen look similar. Unfortunately, the designers of BB Tanks were unable to emulate the fun-to-play aspects of Gunbound. The graphics are much worse, and the map and tank designs are ugly and simple.

The problem is that this game just isn't fun to play. The best way to describe it is: the poor mans version of Gunbound, but unfortunately for BB Tanks, Gunbound is also free to play. This game is still in beta, so let's not write it off completely. I'll be following the development of this game but unless there are radical improvements, I cannot recommend it to anyone.

This game was originally called "Fortress 2 Blue" in Korea, and it came out WAY before Gunbound (I think it was around 1998 or 1999 it became popular in Korea). So in essence, Gunbound is a successor to this game, not the other way around.
