Bright Shadow is a 3D anime-inspired fantasy MMORPG with a strong emphasis on item collection, community and exploration. Choose from four different classes, each featuring two sub-classes and a huge list of skills.

Explore Luciena's three large areas inhabited by over 500 different Umbra, monsters which can be collected and used in the heat of battle. Bright Shadow is a 3D Fantasy MMORPG boasting cell-shaded anime style graphics and a pet collection system that shows similarities to Pokémon.

Bright Shadow takes us to the land of Luciena, where the people of Umbra attempted to unleash the force of Soul Power with intent to rule Luciena. The killing of innocents to unleash this power came at a cost for the Umbrans, mutating them into monsters.

The people of Luciena have raised arms to fight back against the Umbra and through science they have managed to harness Soul Power in order to boost their abilities or even temporarily morph into a monster themselves. With these new found strengths players will also be able to collect cards from dead Umbra that will allow them to summon the monsters to assist players in combat. There are over 500 different Umbra Cards to collect, a feature that will put hardcore collectors to the test.

Bright Shadow is intended to be a light hearted MMORPG that draws from Anime inspiration; this is very obvious within both the visual style and the story within the game. The game has a major focus on social interaction and encourages the players to play as a group to achieve maximum reward.

Combat is performed through the standard targeted skill system, but players are able to perform combos with other classes to bring down tough foes. A Mage, for example, may team up with a Warrior to combine their attacks and land a devastating blow on the enemy, allowing for a great deal more strategy whilst fighting difficult Umbra.

There are four classes available to players, and each comes with two sub-classes which are available at higher levels. The leveling curve is rather small and even those who don’t have much time to invest will find solace in the fact that end game is well within reach. The game provides a solid questing experience, while a lot of the quests merely involve the player running backwards and forwards multiple times across town; it’s more appealing than grinding.

The world of Luciena consists of three rather large areas which contain many dungeons and locations to discover. The world holds a lot of atmosphere and provides an upbeat vibe, and even contains a Dynamic Weather System.

There is no PvP within Bright Shadow and while this may disappoint some players, it helps to remove the overly competitive attitude from gamers. The community that has nested here are top notch, there isn’t a troll in sight and everyone wants to help. With a much more humble crowd, charming music and a large list of Umbra to collect; players and their friends will always have a memorable time in Bright Shadow.
