Dota 2

Dota 2 is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena game akin to League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth and many others, and the official successor to the original Warcraft 3 mod that inspired them all. (DOTA = Dawn of the Ancients)

Dota 2, the official sequel to the legendary Warcraft 3 mod.

The original Dota began as a user-made modification for Warcraft 3 and has grown into one of the most played online games in the world. Following in the tradition of Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress, Portal, and Alien Swarm, Dota 2 is the result of Valve hiring the community developers who built the mod and giving them the chance to finally build a full product out of their idea with the help of a professional team of developers and artists at Valve.

Each match in Dota 2 is independent and involves two teams with 5 players fighting each other to eventually reach and destroy each others Ancients. Each team occupies a stronghold at either end of the map, with three lanes connecting these two strongholds. The team who kills the other Ancient first, wins the game. Every player has their own hero character to choose from, with a roster of 107 heroes to choose from. Collect gold, acquire the best items, and fight against the other team to achieve victory!
