Today, the strategy browsergame Grepolis crossed the border of five million players. The game set in the Ancient Greece took less than a year to reach this benchmark. The release in Germany was in December 2009.

“For us, quality beats quantity and I am confident to say that Grepolis is a good example for this. We

are really proud to see that our third published game is as successful as the others before”, says

Hendrik Klindworth, co”founder and Managing Director of Grepolis publisher InnoGames. With Tribal

Wars and The West, the InnoGames Portfolio could excite more than 50 million players all over the

world.

For Mr. Klindworth, internationalization is the key factor for the success of the games. Right now,

Grepolis is available in 17 languages. The Korean version started last Monday, the Japanese is almost

ready. For the Asian versions, InnoGames not only did a professional translation, they also

customized the graphics for the new market.

The game advancement for Grepolis is not even finished yet: Version 2.0 is ready to be released in

the upcoming weeks. The biggest update since the release of the game contains improvements in the

graphics and gameplay. For example, InnoGames inserts the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world

into the game.
