Warface Free-to-Play MMOFPS Preview

Warface is an upcoming free-to-play MMO Shooter from Crytek, the guys who brought us Crysis and FarCry. Not only are Crytek bringing their first F2P online FPS to the table, they are making sure it rubs shoulders with all the AAA paid titles by providing a next-gen experience with the CryENGINE 3.

By utilizing the CryENGINE 3 the game is able to offer next-gen graphics along with the AI and Physics we are used to seeing from titles like Crysis. What sets Warface apart is the single-player and co-op missions, Crytek will be consistently updating the game with new missions for players to tackle. The goal here is to provide a PVE universe never before seen in an online FPS, really bringing that MMO element to the genre; or is it just glorified mission packs?

As far as "PVP" is concerned, Warface will offer a full range of game modes and the choice between four classes: Assault, Engineer, Medic and Sniper. Working together as a team to overcome your foes is important in Warface, an example being that players will be able to pull team-mates up onto high ledges or over walls. Manoeuvring through the destructible terrain, helping your friends over obstacles and crushing your enemy wouldn’t be fun without a full loadout.

Warface offers full weapon customization for all their guns, in a DIY Weapon feature players can customize individual parts that make up their weapon to maximize efficiency with their play style. We have seen things like piloting mechs and some advanced animations, but there is plenty more to come from Warface and it looks like the F2P Shooter market is about to be made obsolete.
