Guild Wars 2 is an upcoming, highly-anticipated fantasy MMORPG by ArenaNet. After a very successful Beta Weekend Event 1, players have been waiting patiently for the second test. With plans to run Beta Weekend Event 2 this weekend, ArenaNet has unfortunately announced that the event has been delayed. To confirm, the Beta Weekend Event 2 will NOT be running this weekend.
“Our BWE1 was super successful, we exceeded our expectations. As some of you might have experienced first hand, this lead to some technical issues. To make sure we are not running into the same situation for BWE2, we recently had a stress test, and we are currently deploying a lot of additional hardware in our datacenters.” – MK, Guild Wars 2 Facebook page.
As soon as the new hardware has been deployed in the datacenter, ArenaNet will confirm the new date for Beta Weekend Event 2. The developer stresses that they are not witholding a new date for BWE2 intentionally, but rather want to make sure the next beta event will provide a great experience first. So why not take a bit of advice from your developer overlords, and take the weekend off! Play some Diablo 3, or maybe some TERA.
