Embers of Caerus is an upcoming, low-fantasy medieval sandbox MMORPG currently in development by Forsaken Studios. Recently the developer started a Kickstarter campaign, and reached their target within 5 days. After reaching their target, which would ensure that a prototype of the game could be developed, the developers began accepting even more backers to assist with buying extra third-party software to improve the engine and game overall.
In the final week of their Kickstarter campaign, Forsaken Stuidos has decided to reward their supporters with what they call a “feature week”. Each day will bring a new dev blog from David at Forsaken Studios, discussing a new feature of the game in more detail. The first video has been released, discussing more details about the death system, how it will work and what systems come in to play when a player either dies or kills another player.
The developers have been great so far, they have been very close to their community and aren’t shy about sharing what they are working on. This however is risky, as some players may forget that nothing is final and anything can change at any given moment. Please remember when watching these videos that just because they are saying this is how the death system will work in the game, doesn’t mean it will be the same in the final game. Everything could change at any given moment.

After watching the video, if there is something you didn’t like or you have ideas on how a system could be improved, then head over to the official forums and pitch your ideas or concerns. The developers are more than willing to take on community feedback, as is shown with the burying system that is discussed in the video, that was a community members’ idea. If you want to help support Embers of Caerus, you can do so for as little as $1 by heading over to the Kickstarter page. Stay tuned throughout the week for more feature videos from Forsaken Studios.
