Embers of Caerus is an upcoming low-fantasy medieval sandbox MMORPG by Forsaken Studios. With their Feature week well underway, the developers are releasing new dev diaries about different features of this upcoming MMORPG. Giving away plenty of details, David from Forsaken Studios has been pleasing his community with all the juicy information they were seeking, and he’s not finished yet. Dev Diary 3 is now available and David spends some time talking about the naval systems.

Adding various systems and play styles to your sandbox is great, but ensuring that it allows players to live our their virtual lives however they choose is absolutely vital. It’s great to see that from what the developers at Forsaken Studios are designing, players who want to be a sailor or pirate will have the means to do so. Let’s hope the system is deep enough to hold the interest of players long term, the idea of becoming a full time sailing merchant, pirate or explore does sound potentially epic.
It’s also nice to see another game trying something different to the norm, no ships controlled by just a single player and real laws of sailing to adhere to. I bet there are a few gamers out there with sailing knowledge who never thought it would come in handy within a game world like this. If you haven’t already, head on over to their Kickstarter page if you’d like to help these guys out.
