ELIGIUM: The Chosen One is a Free to Play Fantasy MMORPG published by Frogster. Entering Open Beta in February this year, this fantasy MMO has had a short life before the publisher announced that the game will be shutting down. Frogster has stated that while there has been prolonged efforts to support the community and the game, they have still come to the conclusion that ELIGIUM does not fully meet the high expectations of Frogster as a publisher.
All operations will cease on July 17th, both the game server and the forums will cease to exist. Players who have purchased currency and shop items from the cash shop will be reimbursed with GamePay coupons to be used on other Frogster/Gameforge titles. The exact reason for the game shutting down is unknown, but we’d lay our money down on the developer not delivering the kind of support for ELIGIUM that Frogster expected as a publisher. It’s a sad day for ELIGIUM, although the game wasn’t that great to begin with.
