ASTA – The War of Tears and Winds Kicks Off Open Beta

ASTA – The War of Tears and Winds kicks off Open Beta today, bringing the free-to-play Asian-inspired fantasy MMORPG to the Western audience. So if you have been looking for a new MMO to play with a more traditional feel to it, this may well be the game for you!

ASTA - The War of Tears and Winds Kicks Off Open Beta

A classic fantasy MMORPG, ASTA offers a somewhat familiar MMORPG experience with customizable attributes, server-first achievements, as well as a handy group finder and automatic matchmaking for your convenience, with no restrictions on ASTA’s Open Beta servers.

In the few months since the game closed its Beta servers in November 2015, Webzen have worked hard to cater ASTA to the Western audience with various gameplay improvements such as English-voiced characters and amendments to the game’s economy.

“Specific feedback on the game economy allowed us to make small improvements that will increase player enjoyment, which is hugely important for us at WEBZEN. We are excited to have begun the Open Beta and to see even more players enjoying ASTA.” – Richard Moon, Head of Global Business at Webzen.

To celebrate ASTA’s Open Beta launch, there is a 2 week login event running, weekend giveaways, and various starter packs. You can download the game and check things out in more detail over on the official website. And if you are checking the game out, make sure to grab one of our free giveaway gift packs while stocks last!

Our Thoughts

It is great to see that Webzen listened to player feedback from the game’s initial Beta test to provide improvements to ASTA that should make it a great MMORPG experience for everybody. If you’re not too busy with one of the many new MMOs to check out early in 2016, perhaps ASTA will be right up your street. Who knows? It’s a free-to-play game, either way!
