Bungie has finally shared its plans for the PvP events that everyone is currently missing in Destiny. But good news for everyone; Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris are both returning, and with some adjustments as well!
The Iron Banner will make a triumphant return on October 13th with new weapons and new armor. Also, you will no longer need to purchase the tempered buff, as you get the buff for simply participating in the event. The drop rates will also be higher and new emblems and new bounties will be introduced to the event as well. Legendary marks instead of glimmer will now be used to purchase gear from Lord Saladin. This event is not for the newer players though, as you’ll need to be at least a level 40 Guardian. The recommended Light to enter the Iron Banner is 2013
That’s not the only event that has received its fair share of changes, however. Trials of Osiris now has a better drop rate, and grants you Trials gear for wins. The more you win, the better the drops will be that you receive. If you lose, you’ll continue to gain more passage coins. Also new; you must buy all of your buffs at the beginning of a Trials passage, rather than being able to purchase certain buffs partway through your passage. This provides that extra bit of difficulty that will make it even more fun for players.
New Trials bounties will be made available to obtain Trails gear for those of you who don’t actually reach the Lighthouse. One of the most welcome changes, however, can be found in the matchmaking. It’ll now try to pair you with people that currently have the same amount of wins, which should provide matches that are more fair and, of course, more difficult as well. The recommended Light is 290 and only Guardians with 251 Light can lead a Fireteam. Trials of Osiris is set to return to Destiny on the 16th of October, so 3 days after Iron Banner will be released.
