Nintendo has wrapped up its E3 Spotlight livestream with a load of new and expected surprises, and one of those is a Rocket League Nintendo Switch version. The online multiplayer car-soccer title will be arriving to the console with several unique items and a few new features.
According to the game’s website, Rocket League on Switch will have all of the core features, updates, and content previously released on other platforms, along with a selection of unique customization options and exclusive Battle Cars.
The Switch edition will also provide cross-network play that lets players on Switch team up and face off against Steam and Xbox One players. The Switch version will also provide all of the expected play modes the console is capable of, such as Tabletop Mode, Handheld Mode, and local co-op.
More details are expected in the coming weeks, but the current release window of Rocket League Switch is set for the holiday season of 2017. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
Rocket League is definitely better with friends, so the Switch is a natural choice for the game. We’re most excited by the cross-network play feature, however. Granting players of the same game the opportunity to play together regardless of platform is a wonderful development.
