MMORPGs have had a bit of a rise on consoles of late, but it can be tough to communicate with other players unless you get a hold of specialist equipment. Well Zenimax have an answer for The Elder Scrolls Online as they announce a collaboration with Vivox – a company that provides communication applications for social experiences on the web, mobile, in games, or in social networking environments – to bring voice chat to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game.
Vivox’s natively supported voice chat is set to bring players together on their respective consoles, bringing both private chat channels and public channels based on your proximity to other players. So long as you’re close to one another and wearing a headset, you can now engage in real-time communication with other players on Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
“We are excited to incorporate voice chat into the console versions of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, enabling players to easily connect with one another,” said Matt Firor, game director, ZeniMax Online Studios. “For us, Vivox was the natural choice, given their multi-platform capabilities, gaming industry pedigree and reliability.”
This collaboration can only bring further immersion to the online world of Tamriel on console.
