The latest mobile trading card game to receive a global launch is Mabinogi Duel, which combines beautiful artwork, strategic game mechanics and a robust single-player campaign.
Normally, mobile TCGs are a dime a dozen and are generally clones of each other, however, Mabinogi Duel focuses more on strategy than RNG or purchasing power. Developed by devCAT Studio and published by Nexon, Mabinogi Duel features a sizeable PvE campaign, alongside multiple PvP arenas. Players can choose to simply play against AI or battle other players in real-time.
“Mabinogi Duel combines beautiful artwork with all the elements of a deep, authentic TCG that fans of the genre will love,” said devCat director Donggun Kim. “Since Mabinogi Duel’s open beta, and through its soft launch, the team has carefully fine-tuned the game in preparation for its global launch, and we look forward to sharing it with the rest of the world to enjoy.”
Currently, Mabinogi Duel contains more than 1,000 cards and more sets are on their way. The Korean version of the game recently introduced the third set, while the global version has introduced a preview version of the second set.
The gameplay in Mabinogi Duel requires quite a bit of strategic thinking, which makes it better than most other mobile TCGs. On top of that, pricing structure is fair and it’s very easy to earn free cards and boosters from playing the campaign and arena modes.
