Apparently, the number crunchers over at Gearbox are getting a tad bit jealous that everyone is drooling over the graphics in Battleborn. So they’ve decided to put together an infographic that depicts all of the ways you can play Battleborn.
“You’re so busy getting roped in by graphics, you’re missing all the deeper gameplay, number-crunching, and role-playing elements we’re folding into the upcoming ballsy hero shooter. You think Johnny Programmer wants to go home at night knowing that all you talk about is how pretty things look? No. He’s deeper than that.”
The graphic, which you can see in the video above, shows just how much character depth that Battleborn is going to have and how many different ways you can technically play the game. Most of the numbers revolve around the 25 playable heroes, the combinations of their skill, and different team compositions.
Each of the 25 heroes has 10 levels with 2 possible skills per level, which allows for 1024 basic combinations. However, there are also 5 alternate skills per hero, and that increases the number to 7,776 ways to play each hero.
By crunching numbers for every hero and team combination it was decided that Battleborn has 49,576,665,600 different playable configurations. That’s more than there are people on the planet.
Of course, it’s more likely that the optimal builds for every hero will be set a couple of weeks after launch and the numerical variety won’t see any practical use, but numbers are always fun.
