Rising Generals To Shut Down

Rising Generals has had some sad news today. They have discontinued development of the game and will be shutting the servers down in just over a weeks time.

Rising Generals was conceived as a cross platform strategy MMO with players able to log on via their browser or Android and iOS devices. Developed by strategy-specialist Innogames, known for Forge of Empires, Tribal Wars and Tribal Wars 2, the game now only has until February 9th.

The full message from the team is below.

Dear Rising Generals players,

It is our duty to sadly inform you that we will discontinue the development of the game. The servers will be shut down on February 9, 2015.

The reasons are as follow: as you all know, we unfortunately have been experiencing technical difficulties (loading issues for many players, gameplay bugs such as messages not being readable, and others), not all of which we were able to overcome. As a result, we came to the conclusion that the game does not live up to the high standards of quality we strive for.

We regret having had to take this step, and it was no easy decision. A big thank you goes out to everyone who played Rising Generals and gave us great feedback, and many ideas for improvement. Furthermore, we would like to thank all the people at InnoGames and elsewhere who contributed to the development of this game.

Sincerely,

Your Rising Generals Team

About Jonathan Doyle

Once long ago Westwood made a space game. Earth And Beyond was the start of the journey. From there, through Paragon City and to the fields of Altdorf, there were battles. Westwood brought me to MMOs. City of Heroes refined my love for them. Warhammer brought me to writing about them. He loves all things space, sci fi, Warhammer or heroic.
