In a sad state of affairs, this news is probably unsurprising to some and to others just amusing.
On Thursday armed SWAT police turned up at the home of 27-year-old Joshua Peters, from Minnesota in the US, following a swatting. Joshua was at the time running a Runescape Twitch stream with some 60,000 viewers. In a more unfortunate than most twist, the door was answered by Joshuas 10-year-old brother.
Got swatted during my stream. 10 cops pointed guns at my 10 year old brother when he answered the door. I’m shaking with frustration..

Joshua Peters left the room to address the fact that armed tactical police had come in, before returning to the stream around 15 minutes later naturally distressed.
In this video, Peters responds to those responsible.
“I see you posting my address. I had police point a gun at my little brothers because of you,” he says.
“They could have been shot, they could have died because you chose to SWAT my stream.
“I don’t give a s*** about what you have against me, or what I did to you. For that, I am at a loss for words. Your gripe is with me so let it be with me and do not involve my family in any way, shape or form with this. They don’t deserve that.”
This latest swatting attempt was picked up by ABC News in America before finding its way to us.
Joshua has said he wasn’t sure who targeted him, or why. I imagine whomever did it justifies themselves with the idea that it was all for the “lulz”.
