On Thursday, Crytek’s free-to-play, multiplayer shooter Warface received a new “Cyber Horde” co-op mode just in time for Halloween.
“Set in the dead of night, Cyber Horde confronts Warface players with their scariest mission yet. As teams brave bleak woodland and deserted military facilities, they will encounter waves of enemies spilling out from a mysterious laboratory. And with nowhere to run, players will soon discover that Blackwood’s newest recruits are far from human!”
In order to stop the horde of enemies, players will be tasked with escorting a heavily-armored vehicle through the woods and detonating enough explosives to demolish the Blackwood’s lab. Along the way, the vehicle will be required to make multiple stops and players will be forced to deal with the horrors that spawn from the forest.
In addition to the new game mode, Warface has released holiday inspired skins, weapons and items that will only be around for a limited time. October also marks the 2-year anniversary of Warface, which has seen the addition of 30 new PvP maps and co-op mission since its release. As a completely free-to-play first-person shooter, players can choose between the rifleman, medic, sniper or engineer and the game can be downloaded through Steam or the Warface website.
