Blizzard just released a video containing 7 minutes of gameplay featuring the sound-based hero, offering an overview at the new abilities for the support class.
Having grown up in Rio de Janeiro in a poor and crowded favela, he was always looking for a way to lift spirits of those around him and found the answer in music and its power to bring people together and help them forget their troubles. Using Vishkar sonic technology, he became a symbol for positive social change. Now he’s set out to make a difference to the world and change it for the better.
Lúcio, a DJ who’s also a freedom fighter, has a Sonic Amplifier as his weapon of choice; a speaker-like weapon that blasts sound at his opponents, knocking them back in the process. He is also able to heal his teammates or give them a speed boost, thanks to his Crossfade ability. On top of that, his ultimate grants him and his allies a temporary sonic shield for each individual ally.
Blizzard had revealed Lúcio at Gamescom last week in a short video that highlighted his music-oriented abilities. All of his unique abilities can be seen in the gameplay footage below:
Over the past few months, Blizzard has been releasing a series of gameplay videos highlighting the team of heroes in Overwatch, including Soldier 76, Zarya, Bastion, Pharah, Reinhardt, Tjorbörn, Reaper, Hanzo, Tracer, Zenyatta, McCree and Mercy.
