Conan Exiles Launch Date Announced

The long-awaited Conan Exiles launch is coming quite soon, May 8th to be exact. It will be launching on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Not only is the game launching but Funcom has a whole lot of improvements in store. Our friends over at MMORPG got to hear all about them.

Players can expect to find new content, freeform climbing, new progression systems, a new combat system, new biomes, new dungeons, and new improvements. A whole lot of new stuff.

The freeform climbing was inspired by the climbing in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Using stamina you’ll be able to vertically climb up just about anything in the world. You’ll also be able to take the Hero’s Plunge, a running jump off a ledge where you turn and hold on to the rocks to rappel down from great heights. Sounds like an acrophobe’s (fear of heights) worst nightmare.

Over 400 new items have also been added to the game and the size of the map has more than doubled. More is better! A volcano biome and a swamp biome will also be added to the game at launch, each with new dungeons to play in.

Another feature that MMORPG got to see was Purges. It’s a sort of tower defense action game in which you have to defend your base from waves of regionally appropriate mobs. Failing a Purge may result in a damaged base. Speaking of bases, you’ll be able to farm in them! Grow different things for cooking, crafting, and more.

All of these things will be coming to Conan Exiles when it launches on May 8th. Until then there won’t be any new content added to the game. Which really is ok because it’s only a month away! If you want to see more of the game check out their live stream on Twitch on April 10th at 11 AM Eastern, 8 AM Pacific.
