After a well-deserved Winter vacation, the Legion alpha test is back online with a few updates made. In addition to all of the content that was previously included in the alpha build, testers will now be able to explore the new Val’Sharah zone and delve into the new Darkheart Thicket Dungeon. The Shaman Order Hall is now also available, and the Demon Hunter Vengeance (tank) spec is ready for testing as well. If you dare, you can even face raid boss Ursoc! Though character copy is currently still disabled, testers can create high-level characters using templates that have been provided by Blizzard.
Without an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) for the alpha test, participants can freely stream the game and share screenshots and more. Though this new build is already heaps better than the previous one, it is still a work-in-progress, so changes will be made as Blizzard continues to prepare for the upcoming beta test. What can be seen in the alpha test, might not actually be what you’ll see in the final game.
Players selected to participate in the alpha test will receive an email invitation. This email invitation will direct them to download and install the alpha client directly through the Battle.net desktop app. If you’re unsure whether or not your invitation is legitimate, make sure you log in to Battle.net to verify whether you can install and play the Legion alpha.
For a guide on how to participate in the Legion alpha, as well as a guide on where you can provide which type of feedback, make sure you head over to the official World of Warcraft website.
Though not everyone has the chance to participate in this alpha test, Legion will eventually be available to many more players in a much more complete state. With several new features introduced in this new build, we do however get the disappointment over not being among the testers.
