ARK: Survival Evolved launched on Steam Early Access just two days ago and it seems like we aren’t the only ones who love dinosaurs as the gaming world’s newest survival game has met with great success.
Within the first 48 hours of ARK: Survival Evolved’s Early Access release, the open-world dinosaur adventure has seen more than 200,000 survivors begin their island adventure, and within just 24 hours, there were more then 100 official servers with 2,300 community servers active. According to Steamcharts.com, the peak so far was over 36,000 concurrent players with more than 1 million hours played so far! Whew.
There is support planned for Mac and Linux by the end of June, and performance-boosting DirectX12 implementation for Windows 10 planned for the end of July. Moreover, Studio Wildcard are updating regular performance updates for ARK: Survival Evolved including increased framerate and loading speeds, reduced memory usage, DirectX 10 Shader Model support added with more to come.
Of course, players can also expect Dinosaur events in game leading up to the launch of “a certain dinosaur cinematic experience” in the next few weeks, because who doesn’t love dinosaurs?
Studio Wildcard will be hosting its very first developer FAQ on Twitch today from 2-3pm EST so tune in to that for more dinosaur fun.
