Square Enix has announced the second part of Final Fantasy XI’s final story, Rhapsodies of Vana’diel.

Rhapsodies of Vana’diel, Part 2 picks up where the first part left off.

The next version update will introduce the second chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel.
Continuing where the first chapter left off, the second chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel sees a diverse cast of characters united against the greatest peril Vana’diel has ever faced.
Progressing through Chapter 2 of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel will grant access to all new rhapsodies, bringing along with them a variety of special benefits.
* The new missions will be divided between three major updates.
The August Update will introduce the second chapter of the saga along with an all-new area and fresh battle content.
Though few details have been shared about specific content additions (storylines, characters, locations, etc.), the update will be the second in the game’s final story arc. A release date for the update has not yet been announced.
Final Fantasy XI
Final Fantasy XI is Square Enix’s first exploration of the MMORPG genre. Released in 2003, is was the first MMO on the Xbox 360. Earlier this year, Square Enix announced Rhapsodies of Vana’diel would be the game’s final story expansion. All future updates will be devoted to their new flagship MMO, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
