The Hearthstone Spring Preliminary tournament series schedule has been announced, and the event will be held from May 13-15, 2016. Players from across Europe and South Africa compete in the Spring Series Tavern Heroes Tournament events, hoping for a chance to play in the Spring Preliminary.
On Friday, May 13, the Spring Series Tavern Heroes Tournament will be held, with players competing at venues all across Europe and South Africa. The top 32 finishers of this tournament will join the highest ranked 128 Hearthstone players in Europe for the Hearthstone Spring Preliminary itself, which will be held on May 14 and 15. All of the venues for the event have been announced in a post on eu.battle.net, and all of these locations will be open to the public during the tournament. Spectators are free to attend, play duels among one another, and participate in side events.
The Tavern Heroes Qualifiers are not yet closed; many locations are still hosting matches where players can try to earn a place at the Tavern Heroes Tournament. Players can check out the Fireside Gatherings page to locate a venue near them, if they are interested in trying to qualify for the tournament. The complete list of venues for both the Tavern Heroes Tournament as well as the Spring Preliminary can be found in the announcement post on eu.battle.net.
Lots of locations for qualifying events means lots of people can have a shot at a “major” eSports event, and lots of venues for the event itself means lots of people can attend and be part of the fun. A coordinated event of this size takes a lot of fun, but it should be a lot of fun. We’re excited to see what happens!
