Six weeks after the launch of online strategy card game Chronicle: RuneScape Legends, Morvran – the Slayer Master enters the battlefield, armed with a host of new cards and aggressive gameplay. With the 1.4 update and crossbow-wielding Morvran is the Sixth Legend, new challenges are added that will further determine the fate of Legends. Players will have to use their wits and smarts to secure success and reap the rewards, as they strive to add the Legend to their collection.
Since the game’s launch at the end of May, more than a million games have each been played using Ariane and The Raptor across Chronicle’s many gameplay modes, including the hardcore Ranked mode, and draft Dungeoneering mode. Now, Morvran arrives to shake things up.
The only requirement for players is to defeat the Slayer Master himself, since Morvran’s addition to the line-up of Legends is entirely free. He brings with him a new set of unique tactics and strategies to use against foes, as well as two additional character skins and 37 new cards. You can customize Morvran and forge your own quests with your deck of cards. True to form, Morvran is highly aggressive and pretty badass, so there could be a small concern that this new Legend is OP, but then he also offers a new style of gameplay, so we’ll have to wait and see.
“Chronicle’s launch on Steam was just the prologue of our own quest to continue delivering a strong lineup of content for the game. The addition of Morvran as our sixth Legend will shake up the strategies and tactics of even top Platinum-ranked players, but he is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of planned content for the rest of the year and beyond,” said James Sweatman, lead designer, Chronicle: RuneScape Legends. “We’ve had great feedback from gamers across the world since Chronicle launched in May, and we’re looking forward to continuing our journey with them.”
Coming Up in Chronicle: RuneScape Legends
Get ready for the game’s first ever event coming up: the Beach Party begins later this summer in three brand new sun-soaked, tropical environments. Naturally, all players are invited to join community events which require cooperation in order to succeed. As a reward for taking part, exclusive cards can be obtained.
The reimagining of both beloved heroes and villains always comes with high expectations. Morvran’s design looks great, very much as it should be, but perhaps his arrival will also create a big reaction in the community’s response to the game’s balancing. Being such a legendary Slayer Master, he’s expected to be pretty powerful. So, try it out and let us know if he lives up to your expectations!
