New Features Announced For Forge Of Empires

InnoGames is responsible for titles such as Tribal WarsThe West and Grepolis. Today the developer has announced new details on their upcoming free-to-play browser-based strategy MMO, Forge of Empires. Placing players in charge of a small Stone Age village, they must lead their colony to great power by transforming them in to a sprawling modernized city. Completing quests, players must decide what to build, who to conquer and what to research as they progress through the Epochs.

"Forge of Empires is InnoGames’ most elaborate in-house production so far", says Eike Klindworth, Co-founder of InnoGames. "Our requirements in terms of graphics, gameplay and technical quality of the game could not have been higher. As with Grepolis and Tribal Wars, we aim to provide a satisfying and enduring experience for players – the gameplay allows for a huge number of tactical options that will keep even advanced strategists engaged for a long time."

Combat in Forge of Empires is hex-based, giving players complete strategical control over the battle. Old-school strategy fans will feel right at home with this combat system and it has been coupled with a research tree that is all too familiar. As players progress through the research tree they will unlock more land to build on, stronger military units and more advanced structures that produce valuable resources. There is plenty of room here for even the most advanced strategist to flex his strategy muscle, all in detailed graphics run right in your browser. FoE is set to enter closed beta in just a few weeks.
