When last we left online ARPG Path of Exile, we were in February eagerly anticipating The Fall of Oriath launch. Now, we’re one step closer to that release as we now have a Fall of Oriath release date and some early details of what players can expect.
The Fall of Oriath is the fifth act in the ongoing story in Path of Exile, where players will make their return to the titular region on a mission of vengeance. The Fall of Oriath will also introduce the removal of the game’s previous difficulty levels, bringing instead another five acts that lead you through familiar and new areas to witness the consequences of your character’s actions.
The Fall of Oriath will also introduce the Pantheon system where players will get the opportunity to earn new powers taken from the gods themselves, along with new skills, new locations, and new boss fights.
Path of Exile: The Fall of Oriath will launch on Friday, August 4th, at 1pm PDT. The online ARPG will also be making its way to Xbox One with all content as a free-to-play release sometime later this year. More details can be found on the official site, and a trailer for The Fall of Oriath is available for viewing below.
As our preview in February showed, this update has the potential to totally shake up how ARPGs think of late-game progression. We’re absolutely excited for both this new act’s launch as well as its arrival to ARPG players on the Xbox One.
