It appears that Perfect World Entertainment layoffs are occurring according to a couple of tweets from Star Trek Online’s community manager.
Need a senior CM with experience and a loud-mouth to boot? Hit me up. I’m in the market for a job

While early reports offer no confirmation of the amount of layoffs, Massively Overpowered has received word from Perfect World Entertainment that a statement regarding the matter will be released later today.
As for LaughingTrendy, the split appears to be taken well overall according to her most recent tweets. “My team was a good one,” reads her reaction. “The community response to my situation has been quite wonderful. Glad to know I have a good standing with y’all fellow nerds.”
We will update this story as new information is made available.
Update: Perfect World Entertainment has issued the following statement:
“This week, Perfect World Entertainment did experience a reduction in staff of under 30 employees. Perfect World employs thousands of people from all over the world and decisions like this are always difficult. However, we are incredibly grateful for the contributions of those individuals impacted and will do our best to help each of them through this transition. This reduction in workforce will not impact any of the games published by Perfect World Entertainment.”
It’s incredibly unfortunate that layoffs are occurring within Perfect World Entertainment, and we hope that those affected will be able to find employment within the games industry very soon. Our best wishes go out to LaughingTrendy and others.
