To honor the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, World of Tanks is launching a meaningful in-game event filled with historical significance and thrilling gameplay. From May 6 to 13, players can dive into a brand-new PvE mission, Operation Postman, where they take on the role of an elite Allied tank commander. Tasked with delivering a critical message behind enemy lines in the final days of World War II, players must navigate dense minefields, outsmart German patrols, and rely on unique crew abilities like “Scout Around” and “False Order.” Those who complete the mission will secure the special M24 Chaffee tank as a permanent addition to their collection.
The commemoration continues beyond the battlefield. On May 10 at 15:00 UTC, Wargaming and The Tank Museum in Bovington, UK, will host a special livestream. Presented by Richard Cutland, Head of Military Relations at World of Tanks and former tank regiment veteran, alongside Nik Wyness, Head of Marketing at the museum, the stream will explore the historical importance of VE Day, key wartime milestones, and tank development throughout WWII. Viewers can also enjoy Twitch Mystery Drops and the chance to win premium vehicles and other rewards.
From May 8 at 09:00 UTC to May 12 at 09:00 UTC, tankers can take advantage of x5 XP for the first victory of the day, gold discounts on premium tanks, and reduced prices on tech tree vehicles, consumables, and equipment—making this a must-play event that blends rich history with powerful gameplay.
