An update dropped today for Grand Theft Auto Online that now lets players run their own criminal organization. Players can now join their friends and run all kinds of illegal activities while making tons of money.
The Grand Theft Auto Online: Executives and Other Criminals update provides a ton of new content for the MMOFPS. The biggest draw is the ability to run your own crime organization, where players can hire or fire other players and face off against rivals. In order to start your own organization, players must have more than $1 million in their Maze bank account and can initially hire up to 3 other players as bodyguards.
Additionally, this update adds 6 new game types to the mix including: Hostile Takeover, Asset Recovery, Piracy Prevention, Most Wanted, Market Manipulation, and Auto Buyout. Players that are successful enough will be able to purchase a single Super Yacht, which functions as a floating apartment.
Other new features:
10 Stilt Houses are now for sale around Vinewood Hills, each equipped with a 10-car Garage and a Heist Planning Room
3 Custom Apartments for sale in Eclipse Towers, with 8 customizable themed interiors
10 new cars for sale, including a Turreted Limo and 6 new executive vehicles with armored variations
2 new helicopters – SuperVolito and SuperVolito Carbon
2 new weapons, the Heavy Revolver and Switchblade, each with VIP and Bodyguard variants
Players will now have the ability to purchase a fifth Garage or Apartment
New clothing and accessories, including Robes, Smoking Jackets, Pyjamas and Swimwear
Our Thoughts:
Building notoriety is one of the most exciting parts of an MMO, and GTA Online is finally allowing people to basically start their own mafia groups. This should definitely prove to be entertaining.
