Chaac is the axe-wielding Mayan god of rain
Yesterday HiRez Studios announced the arrival of the axe-wielding Mayan god "Chaac" to the pantheon of SMITE. Chaac is Mayan god of rain, and has multiple elemental powers with which he will try to smite down all who stand in his way. HiRez Studios also released a video clip about Chaac.
Chaac, God of Rain
Chaac, the Mayan god of rain ruled the world with his brother the sun-god. In the early days of mankind, the people of earth were starving from hunger and Chaac searched for a way to rescue his people. Deep inside a mountain, Chaac found a big chunk of gold and cleft it with his mighty axe. Inside this chunk of gold, Chaac found the crop Mais and it changed the fate of mankind. As he was worshiped, his pride grew and made him take his brothers wife as his mate. When his brother, the sun-god, found out that his wife and his brother had an affair, his wife dutifully returned to him. Chaac knew that his actions had been wrong, and brought forth due to his pride. Stricken with grief, Chaac smashed is axe into the sky, and from this wound came the tears of heaven: rain.
Ever since his brother found out about this affair, Chaac has vowed to live a live without greed and pride. As a punishment for himself, he keeps cleaving the sky so that his tears may fall down on earth, thus letting crops grow and feeding mankind.

Overflow
After 5 successful basic attacks, the next ability Chaac uses costs no mana and players can keep attacking over and over.
Thunder Strike
Chaac throws his axe forward, lighting shooting from it, dealing 80/140/200/260/320 damage +60% of your physical power to all enemies in the target area. Cooldown: 10. Cost: 60.
Torrent
Chaac spins his axe around him, damaging all enemies for 100/150/200/250/300 +70% Physical damage scaling, and gaining 4/8/12/16/20 protections for enemy hit (max 5). If his axe is out from Thunder Strike, he will first dash to the axe location, doing 50% base damage to enemies he passes through and then execute his spin attack. Cooldown: 15. Cost: 60/65/70/75/80.
Rain Dance
Chaac summons a rainstorm around his current location for 6s. While it rains he regains 10/15/20/25/30 health every 0.5s, and enemies are caught in the mud, slowed, and their attack speed reduced by 5/10/15/20/25%. If his axe is out from Thunder Strike, a rainstorm will also spawn at that location. Cooldown: 16. Cost: 75/80/85/90/95.
Storm Call
Chaac jumps directly up into the air, charging his lighting axe and unleashing a blast that silences for 3s and deals 150/200/250/300/350 damage +100% of his physical power to all enemies around him. If triggered within range of Chaac's axe from Thunder Strike, Storm Call will super-charge, dealing an additional 50/75/100/125/150 damage and also knocking up enemies. Cooldown: 90. Cost: 80/90/100/110/120.
