We hate to start off any day with such tragic news but following a month-long disappearance, FFXIV voice actress Sian Blake was found dead with her two young sons at their home in east London.
She was the English voice actress of Yugiri Mistwalker in Final Fantasy XIV, and a rather important character in the main scenario quests. Sian (under the stage name ‘Syan Blake’) took over from the previous voice actress, Paulette Ivory, upon the launch of Heavensward and players really took to her characterization of Yugiri.
Perhaps most famously known for her role as Frankie in British TV soap opera Eastenders, Sian has played parts in a few things periodically throughout her career as an actress and suffers with motor neurone disease. Mostly though, she was a mother to two boys, ages 8 and 4, which is undoubtedly the most shocking part of this whole story.
At present, the Metropolitan police are investigating this as a murder and are on the lookout for her partner, Arthur Simpson-Kent, who has also been missing since December 16th, three days after Sian and her sons first disappeared.
Our Thoughts
Completely aside from her role in FFXIV, our thoughts go out to the family and friends of Sian and her two young boys at this most difficult of times. This is a truly horrifying story.
