The first major PUBG: New State update has landed. And it brings with it all the good stuff: vehicles, weapons and justice for naughty trolls.
As the next-gen mobile Battle Royale surpasses a whopping 45 million downloads, Krafton Inc seemingly thought it was high time for its first major update. And the content is bountiful.
New State Update Key Features
The key changes to the game are as follows:
Survivor Pass Vol. 2: Based on the character Bella of the Dream Runners Faction, players can now complete a variety of story missions to earn all of Bella’s costumes. Players can also upgrade to a Premium Pass to earn additional vehicle skins, character costumes and 1,500 NC upon reaching Level 48.
New Vehicles: Bitchin’ new wheels are now available in the form of The Mesta - a two-seater classic sports car that offers quick acceleration and high speeds. Then there’s the not-so-bitchin’ six-seater minibus, the Electron, that favours practicality and durability over style. Both are available in Troi and the Training Ground, while the Mesta can also be found in Erangel.
New Weapon: The snappily named L85A3 is a new assault rifle with low recoil. What this rifle lacks in fire rate it makes up for in damage output for weapons that use 5.56 ammo. Perfect for mid-to-long range deployment.
Gun Customisations: New customisation options are available for the M416, SLR and the new L85A3. Players can now add a Long Barrel to the M416, while the SLR can equip a 5.56mm Barrel to increase accuracy. The L85A3, meanwhile, can don the Vertical Foregrip Bipod to reduce vertical recoil at the expense of ADS speed.
Merit Point System: Trolls’ days are numbered with the introduction of the Merit Point System. Players who are reported for negative behaviours such as team kills will now lose Merit Points. Once these fall below a certain threshold, they will be excluded from Squad Mode until they increase their total Merit Points over time through Solo play. Go be a griefer elsewhere.
This New State update is available now on Android and iOS. To celebrate the seasonal overhaul, a new lobby theme will greet players. While a series of in-game events will also be available, including weekend play events and the Winter Festival Challenge where players can earn the Crimson Snowflake - M416 skin.
