Fast travel isn’t entirely unbeknownst to us in the real world. With a smartphone and a bit of cash, a designated driver can take us to our next quest in a matter of minutes. In New World, however, Uber tragically doesn’t exist. For some reason.

Luckily, for the time-conscious (and downright lazy) there is an equivalent service: Azoth. The universal solvent of alchemical legend is an extremely valuable commodity in Amazon Games’ new MMO. It can also be used to beef-up forged weapons and respec characters. And luckily, there are myriad ways of getting one’s hands on this mystical substance.

How to Get Azoth in New World

How to Get Azoth by Questing

By far the simplest method for retrieving Azoth is by…playing the game. Though this is probably far from mind blowing information to new players, prioritising quests with high Azoth yields may well be the wisest port of call when organising your to-do list.

By using the solvent sparingly in the early game, and making short trips on foot to Azoth-yielding quests, players will find their Azoth stores full to the brim in no time. It’s as it is IRL with one’s money: saving up is wise.

How to Get Azoth by Gathering

Certain enemies can drop gathering tools with the Azoth Extraction perk. Which affords a 30% chance to receive the blue stuff every time you use it. Additionally, enemies at level 20 or above also have a small chance of dropping it. So: get fightin’.

For the less bullheaded, however (looking at you, Syndicate), there’s always the odd trader selling tools with Azoth Extraction. So: get tradin’.

While this ‘harvesting’ method does involve a bit of grinding, at least it offers a double the bang for your buck each time some Azoth appears with your harvested resources.

Once your Azoth stores are ample, the next challenge is to use it wisely. Be sure to minimise distances before travelling, or even walk halfway. And use storage to reduce the encumbrance cost.

And if you’re using Azoth to respec…be less fickle, we guess.
