Starting today, users can claim their free Mini Mystical Dragon pet by securing their account with 2-step verification.

According to a recent Reddit post, Guild Wars 2 has begun rewarding players who secure their accounts with 2-step verification. From this point forward, all players that register their accounts will receive a free Mini Mystical Dragon pet. Here's how you register:
Log into Arena.net
Go to the Security tab.
Click 2-step verification.
Download the mobile program and/or the desktop program.
Follow the on-screen prompts to finish the verification process.
When the installation and confirmation is finished and processed, players will receive their pet in the in-game mailbox.
Players that have already secured their accounts with 2-step verification will not miss out on the giveaway. Pets will be awarded retroactively, meaning everyone will be rewarded.
Online Security in MMOs
Online security is becoming a major issue in online games. Popular MMORPGs like World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2 have experienced severe online theft problems in the past. Though games cannot force players to adopt 2-step verification to protect their accounts from hackers and thieves, they can reward them for installing security systems.
