A new PUBG mobile title has just been announced by Krafton. PUBG: NEW STATE is hammering home the future of gaming by having the mobile-only title set 30 years in the future. Regardless of whether the platform is good news for franchise fans, there’s no denying that it’s an exciting new content direction. After all, who doesn’t want some badass blue neon on their motorcycle wheels?
As the gaming industry continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible, PUBG: NEW STATE aims to follow in the pioneering footsteps of its predecessor and revolutionise mobile gaming. With state-of-the-art Global Illumination rendering technology pushing the graphical limits, its focus on mobile optimisation promises smooth gameplay with the familiar high-octane combat and gunplay that we’ve come to love from the original title.
“Given the fan support and massive success of the previous games, it is humbling to be able to build and introduce the next game in the franchise that revolutionized the battle royale genre worldwide,” said Min Kyu Park, Executive Producer of PUBG: NEW STATE. “We want to build on that legacy by creating an experience that pushes the limits of mobile gaming. Watching our team come together to develop a global product has been an amazing experience and we are confident that it will speak to all audiences when it launches later this year.”
The battleground of TROI will progress the PUBG lore in a brand-new environment rife with features designed to help expand the genre. Plenty of in-game customisation options await including weapon performance enhancements, fire mode selection and grenade launcher attachments. Additionally, technophiles can rejoice at a more futuristic arsenal, including a pop-up ballistic shield, drones, and as we mentioned, much flashier vehicles.
The free-to-play title is now open to pre-registration via Google Play and the App Store, with pre-orders close behind. Alpha tests are slated for later in the year, so make sure you’re up to speed by checking the website if you’re keen to get started as soon as possible.
