The Women in Games Festival is returning in 2021 on a galactic scale. As this year’s event will encompass more star events and satellite activities than ever before, it has dubbed itself the Women in Games Galaxy. Which makes sense when you see the sheer amount of content that’s set to appear.
The Women in Games Festival 2021 will be entirely virtual, taking place from 6th - 18th September. As is customary, it will invite women in games and their allies from across the world to team up and share entertainment, information and experiences.
Getting involved with any of the events is as easy as emailing hello@womeningames.org - but remember to put the correct header for the event. Luckily for you, we’ve listed all you need to know below:

Women in Games Conference
The Women in Games Conference - arguably the festival's headline act - is set to focus on four key pillars: community, industry, education and policy. It will be broadcast over two days and is scheduled to suit all major time zones.
Plus, on day two, attendees can connect to community groups, studios and businesses via the Expo Booths. Tickets can be bought for $25 via the email using the header ‘Tickets’.
Women in Games Global Awards
The Women in Games Awards will return on 18th September via Hopin, while finalists will be announced on 13th August. To attend or sponsor, email with the header ‘Awards’.
Women in Games Jam
This year’s Side Quest Games Jam will be delivered in collaboration with Into Games. Livestreams from industry professionals will take place from 8th - 15th September as they help participants in their game-making journey. Email with the header ‘Games Jam’.
Esports Tournament
In an attempt to replicate the success of 2020’s first tournament, Women in Games will be revisiting a weekend of esports on 11th & 12th September. Email with the header ‘Esports Tournament’ to get involved.
Satellite Events
There’s plenty of scope for companies and organisations to host their own Satellite Event. These will include Webinars, Roundtable Discussions, Networking, Wellbeing Sessions, Live-Testing, Open Studio Days, Cosplay, DJs & Entertainment, Virtual Quizzes & Competitions and more. Plus it’s free to host. Email with the header ‘Satellite Events’ by 13th August to join in.
Sponsorship
There are also plenty of sponsorship opportunities for companies who would like to engage with the influential Women in Games community. Email with the header ‘Sponsorship’ to discover more.
So as is plain to see, there’s plenty in store for the virtual excursion into the Women in Games Galaxy. So be sure to jump aboard as they prepare for liftoff this September.
