Last week we speculated over whether Blizzard has started to listen to their fans in earnest. Well just two days later, we had what appears to be our answer. As, in a statement regarding WoW Patch 9.1.5, the dev team sat down, looked us in the eyes and told us everything we wanted to hear. Which essentially amounted to “a lot of what you’ll find in [Patch 9.1.5] is the direct result of your collective feedback.” Simple stuff, really.
The new update, which hits the PTR this week, addresses a number of longstanding desires of the WoW community. Players can now switch covenants and conduits. They no longer need to repeat covenant campaigns on alts. There are new customisation options. And, as the cherry on top, the update will also implement “better visibility into the impact of your in-game reports of harassment, and more serious penalties for people engaged in disruptive behavior.” While it will take more than that to solve Blizzard's issues, it's undoubtedly a step in the right direction. As we await the full patch notes, feel free to indulge in the preview that was posted soon after the statement for all the expected changes. And let the optimism wash over you.
BURNING CRUSADE CLASSIC PATCH 2.5.2
Of course, Retail WoW isn’t the only one receiving updates. Burning Crusade Classic’s 2.5.2 update is now live, bringing a slew of “new” content to the nostalgic title. These include:
• Serpentshrine Cavern - Housing the twisted Lady Vashj - Level 70 • The Eye -** Housing the corrupted Kael’thas Sunstrider - Level 70 • Arena Season 2 -** Beginning in just 2 weeks • Ogri’la and Sha’tari Skyguard Daily Content -** New allies providing daily quests to earn their favour and rewards • Guild Banks -** A place for guilds to share raid and dungeon rewards • A Group Browser Tool -** A tool to find friends and parties to join • New PvP Rewards -** Featuring Outland factions’ PvP gear • New Raid Rewards -** Including Tier 4 and Tier 5 tokens
