The Albion Mists offer a new dimension of gameplay to Albion veterans, quite literally.
Watch: New Albion Online Update Takes Veterans Beyond the Veil
A new Albion Online update just dropped, and brings veteran players to an untapped world of greater perils and treasures alike. Beyond the Veil is the latest major content update for the fan-favorite cross-platform MMO, and throws a big new opportunity in the way of experienced players with the introduction of the Albion Mists.
The Mists are the main feature of the new Albion update, and are a fleeting opportunity for players to explore, encounter brand-new creatures, and engage in both PvE and PvP gameplay. Accessed through ephemeral portals that spawn in the open world, players' time in the Albion Mists is limited, with the mists soon swallowing the region and spitting players back from whence they came.
When inside, players can find both lethal and non-lethal zones depending on where they entered from. Solo and duo players can enter lethal zones for high-risk, high-value rewards that will upgrade over time.
Among these rewards are Artifacts dropped by strange new creatures, such as the Griffin and Fey Dragon, which can be forged into a new Artifact Armour line: Fey Armour. This line comprises the Feyscale (Cloth), Mistwalker (Leather), and Duskweaver (Plate) branches. Nine new items can also be crafted at stations, offering a new selection of spells such as Spider Thread, After Image, and Wild Magic.
Also found within the Albion Mists is an ever-moving city that will only reveal itself to the worthy: Brecilien. Once revealed, players can continue to access it through portals in the Mists, the Roads of Avalon, and the Travel Planner. Brecilien contains its own Player Islands, Marketplace, Bank, and crafting stations and bonuses.
Another addition with the latest update includes the new "Pristine" enchantment level. Pristine resources are particularly rare and can only be found in black zones. Needless to say, this will spark some rough-and-tumble as players vie to seize these resources for their own. And for good reason, because gear crafted from these resources has a tier suffix of .4.
All that remains is to ask the question: dare you venture beyond the veil?
