Stunlock Studios has announced a V Rising free weekend to celebrate the scary season.
Celebrate Bloodfeast (Halloween) with a V Rising Free Weekend
It's the most spine-chilling time of the year. Which can mean only one thing: bountiful treats in the form of deals and events across many of the gaming industry's spookiest titles. Yesterday we listed the best of these MMO Halloween events for your convenience. But there was one shadow-stalking title that slipped by unnoticed, until now.
Thankfully, Stunlock Studios have now made it known that players can play their flagship title V Rising free this weekend. Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard that the vampire survival game has enthralled gamers the world over with its unique spin on the vampire horror genre.
It currently boasts a coveted 'very positive' review rating on Steam, and boasts an even more coveted recommendation from our very own Alex. So we would say it's worth taking advantage of a V Rising free download from October 28th - November 1st.
The V Rising free weekend announcement came alongside a Halloween-themed dev update, which is called 'Bloodfeast' and gives prospective players all the more reason to try out the title's newest additions.
This will include a free-to-download Haunted Nights Castle Pack until November 7th, which is replete with jack-o-lanterns which will help to bring the holiday spirit to your castle, even if they might hamper your vampire's edgy aesthetic somewhat.
Finally, a new preset to server defaults dubbed MAD HUNT has introduced a little chaos to the game. When playing in the preset, V Blood locations, V Blood spell unlocks and V Blood technologies will be randomized on the map, meaning all bets are off when exploring.
To avoid hampering progression too much, however, Stunlock has put certain limits in place to ensure players can acquire certain technologies at certain points. Private servers will also have the option to switch the individual components of MAD HUNT on or off as they wish.
