While his DCU counterpart hits theatres this October, DCUO Black Adam is causing all kinds of chaos.
Forget “The Rock”! DCUO Black Adam Enjoys the Limelight
Black Adam starring Dwayne "That Guy Who's in All The Movies" Johnson is hitting theatres on October 21st. And you can bet your bottom dollar that every DC-related IP is capitalising on the hype. DC Universe Online, of course, is one of them.
If there's one thing that Marvel's Deadpool has proven, it's that people love an antihero. Which is why Black Adam, who started out as the arch nemesis of happy-go-lucky Shazam, is one of DC comics' most beloved "villains". As his arc turned from being simply Shazam's big bad to one that depicts a misunderstood main character known for his heavy-handed doling out of cold, hard justice.
DCUO's 44th title is entitled "The Sins of Black Adam", only the DCUO Black Adam is venturing down a different arc to his movie-based counterpart. Despite Black Adam being rooted in Egyptian history and mythology, DCUO Black Adam is taking a leaf out of the Greek mythology playbook as Mr. Adam gets his Orpheus on and squares up to Satan himself (A.K.A. Neron) in order to retrieve and resurrect his dearly departed wife, Isis. The problem is, a deal struck between an antihero and the devil himself is unlikely to go very well. Neither is trifling with the dead.
In preparation for the chaos that will inevitably ensue, DCUO has released this cool piece of artwork in addition to the key features that players can expect from the latest DCUO chapter. These include:
Normal and elite versions of all On Duty content, with level-agnostic event versions available for a limited time
Open-world missions with a solo, alert, and two raids
The appearance of Black Adam, Shazam, Isis, and more recognizable DC characters
Egyptian and Greek mythology-inspired locales including Infernal Kahndaq overrun by the Underworld.
New player rewards, including gear, styles, and more.
The Sins of Black Adam will release on October 26th on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and later on Switch.
