More news from Neptune as Destiny 2 released another trailer for the newest expansion, Lightfall. Last time we were treated to the dazzling sights and sounds of Neomuna, with a sneak peak at the latest Strand subclass. This time we get to see a little more of how the Strand subclass will work, alongside extra goodies in the form of new Lightfall weapons and armor.

If the first trailer didn't hook you, then the new one will. Coming up with new weapon mechanics must be one of the most enjoyable parts of working on Destiny 2. And the dev team have outdone themselves this time with this impressive array of arms:

Destiny 2 has long been praised for the creativity of its armoury.

Here's some more information on the new Lightfall weapons:

  • Final Warning: A Strand Sidearm that marks enemies within range and unleashes a hail of tracking rounds when shooting from the hip.

  • Deterministic Chaos: A rifle whose fourth bullet is a heavy projectile that weakens the enemy. The sixteenth bullet then renders the enemy volatile and ready to blow.

  • Winterbite: A Stasis Exotic Glaive that fires a freezing orb of energy, locking the enemy in place.

  • Cyrtarachne's Façade: An Exotic Helmet that gives Hunters extra armor and flinch resistance when grappling.

  • Abeyant Leap: Exotic leg armor for Titans that fires seeking projectiles when using a Barricade and suspends enemies whilst giving extra armor to the wielder.

  • Swarmers: Another Exotic leg armor for Warlocks, allowing them to create a Threadling with which to infest enemies after destroying a tangle.

  • Quicksilver Storm: A catalyst upgrade that can create Strand tangles, which can be used by Strand wielders to weave new objects and creatures.

The Lightfall release date is slated for February 28th. However, players can currently get stuck into the Quicksilver Storm upgrade by preordering the expansion. Until then, watch this space for more exciting teasers as they emerge.
