Hear ye, hear ye! We have the Embers of Neltharion release date and concrete information on its content.
WoW Wednesday: Here’s Exactly What to Expect on Embers of Neltharion’s Release
Soon after a well-received intermediary World of Warcraft update patch 10.0.7, Blizzard has revealed the Embers of Neltharion release date. Patch 10.1 will be a big step forward in the Dragonflight lore, with the introduction of a new explorable region, and the highly anticipated cross-faction guild feature, among many other exciting additions.
Players will finally be able to dive into Embers of Neltharion on May 2nd. The headline feature is its new zone, Zaralek Caverns: a vast cave system beneath the Dragon Isles that once served as Neltharion's laboratory and the place where Deathwing first began communicating with the Old Gods.
The Zaralek Caverns are also home to the mole-like Niffen, and the erstwhile slaves of Deathwing, the Drogbar. Both races will serve as the latest allies for players to encounter as they plumb the depths of the infamous cave system in pursuit of the villains within.
Hot on the heels of some dracthyr soul-searching in WoW's most recent update, Embers of Neltharion will finally allow players to explore Neltharion's laboratory (where the dracthyr were first created) as part of Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible Raid. This new raid comprises Dragonflight Season 2, beginning May 9th, and can be tackled in Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulty.
Patch 10.1 will also see players attempt to disrupt the efforts of Fyrrak's forces as they gather resources at Suffusion camps within the Azure Span and Ohn'ahran Plains all in an attempt to lure out Fyrrak and his disciples.
And finally, with the Embers of Neltharion release date comes the long-awaited Cross-Faction Guild System. This follows Cross-Faction Instances as the latest step toward peace and harmony between the rival Horde and Alliance factions. Now, orcs, humans, trolls and gnomes can all benefit from such features as shared chat and guild repairs. And it's been a long time coming, given the world-ending threats they have faced together.
No word yet on whether we'll also be seeing a new ranged support class, but the closer we get to the Embers of Neltharion release date, the less likely it looks. For now, we should simply look forward to getting stuck into some juicy new Dragonflight content and delivering another blow to the longstanding rift between our two fair factions.
