Ascending Tide - The Latest ESO Chapter Says "Yarr!" to Pirates

Written by Ollie Bradley at 03/15/2022, 06:20 AM

The latest Elder Scrolls Online chapter takes seafarers to High Isle.

The Elder Scrolls Online's epic Legacy of the Bretons saga has officially set sail. With a year of Breton-based drama on the horizon, this week's release of the Ascending Tide DLC portends a swashbuckling adventure. Will there ever be a year in video games that doesn't feature pirates? We certainly hope not.

High Isle is the latest ESO chapter centred around the eponymous ocean enclave and the chivalrous Bretons who call it home. A new zone, storyline, companions and a new card game system will be unveiled as part of the year-long chapter. And the Ascending Tide DLC marks the first leg of that journey.

The Ascending Tide DLC introduces two new dungeons along with the release of the Update 33 base-game patch. As of today, PC, Mac and Stadia players can dive straight in, whilst console players must wait until 29th March. Here's a rundown of what the DLC and Update include:

Ascending Tide DLC

  • 2 New Dungeons: Coral Aerie & Shipwright's Regret
  • 8 New Item Sets
  • New Collectibles, Furnishings & Dyes
  • New Achievements & Titles

Update 33

  • Account-wide Achievements
  • 6 New PvP Item Sets
  • New PvP Outfit Style
  • New Furnishings
  • Deconstruction Assistant (29th March)
  • Multi-Rider Mounts (In limited territories)

Each new four-player dungeon will see players probe a secret hideout of the clandestine Ascendant Order and rally against undead hordes to aid captain Za'ji in his hunt for ship upgrades. And naturally, each will contain unique rewards that cannot be found elsewhere in Tamriel.

Additionally, Update 33 will allow players to share their achievements across every alt, no matter which one earned it. Streamlining the process for completionists considerably.

The latest ESO chapter can be purchased for 1,500 crowns from the crown store, or will be available to anyone with an ESO Plus membership. For a full rundown of what's in store, check out the official notes.
