The anticipated arrival of the ESO Shadow Over Morrowind story arc has officially begun with the release of the Elder Scrolls Online Scribes of Fate DLC. And the Lovecraftian horror is strong with this one.
With the Elder Scrolls Daedric pantheon playing host to its very own tentacled cosmic horror in the form of Hermaeus Mora, it's not hard to draw connections.
The ESO Shadow Over Morrowind story arc is set to comprise three separate stories, all contributing to the overall narrative. The entire thing, including the title, seems to be heavily inspired by the works of legendary cosmic horror writer, H. P. Lovecraft. And with the Elder Scrolls Daedric pantheon playing host to its very own tentacled cosmic horror in the form of Hermaeus Mora, it's not hard to draw connections.
The Scribes of Fate Dungeon DLC is the first of these stories, and introduces two new four-player PvE dungeons. These include Scrivener's Hall, where players must face off against the Scribes of Mora cult and their sinister new leader, and Bal Sunnar, a township that has begun emanating mysterious temporal magic that needs investigating.
Each bestows a slew of unique rewards and Achievements such as six new item sets, two monster sets, and collectibles. They can be tackled in normal, veteran, and hard mode difficulties. ESO Plus members gain immediate access to the Scribes of Fate DLC, while non-members can drop 1,500 crowns in the Crown Store to gain access.
Available to everyone, meanwhile, is the Update 37 patch. This will feature the following:
Screen narration - an accessibility option that narrates the majority of ESO's menus in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
Hide Shoulders - a cosmetic feature that allows players to hide their equipped Shoulders, as can already be achieved with their Helm.
Housing Improvements - a slew of quality of life improvements that include new filters, the ability to reset training dummies, and the ability to see a full list of furnishings when shopping.
The next chapter in the ESO Shadow Over Morrowind arc will arrive in the form of the Necrom Prologue later this year.
