A fan-favourite Shadowlands character has returned to put our fears at rest.
WoW Wednesday: Patch 9.2.5 Brings Back Fan-Favorite WoW Character
World of Warcraft's patch 9.2.5 is a gift that keeps on giving. Cross-faction instances are finally a thing, and with the patch wrapping up our time in Shadowlands, we can finally look ahead to the bright future that is Dragonflight. However, in tying up loose ends, Blizzard have treated us to a little extra fanservice in the form of a returning fan-favorite Shadowlands character. Shadowlands spoilers ahead.
When traversing the Maw in the final stages of Shadowlands, it was hard to imagine finding a friendly face to talk to. However, while it wasn't a 'face' per se, we received one in the form of Ve'nari, a broker whose business provided refuge both physically and socially during our travels. Despite being aloof and generally neutral, it was enough for Ve'nari to win fans over.
Which is why her sudden disappearance without so much as a goodbye left many fans feeling unsatisfied. Luckily for us, patch 9.2.5 came with an easter egg that suggests it may not be the last we've seen of Ve'nari the broker.
Traveling back to Ve'nari's refuge in the Maw will see players come face-to-face with a vestige informing us of her decision to head to Zereth Mortis in order to avoid the wrath of Cartel Ve. Only upon attempting to find her there, Ve'nari fans will have found their hearts broken at the sight of her lifeless body.
After 120 long hours of grieving, however, the player will then come upon a letter penned by Ve'nari herself, reassuring us that she is still alive and well, having faked her death in order to throw Cartel Ve off the scent.
While this is great news, however, whether or not we'll actually see the fan-favorite Shadowlands character in the "flesh" again seems somewhat unlikely. As it turns out that the industrious broker has managed to create a spaceship that she is now using to explore the cosmos.
It certainly feels like Ve'nari blasting off to the Great Dark Beyond is about as much of a line in the sand without actually killing her off. But with confirmation that she is alive, we can certainly live in hope that we'll see her in Dragonflight once more.
