A Legendary Anime Composer Will Head the Next Genshin Impact Concert

Another Genshin Impact Concert is in the pipeline, bringing the marvellous melodies of Teryvat to life via a global online event. Along with the HoYoverse in-house music studio, HOYO-MiX, the Genshin Impact team even managed to enlist the help of a bonafide big-dog in the world of music, Shirō Sagisu. A name that should be familiar to particularly cultured anime fans.
Shirō Sagisu is a world-famous composer, arranger, and music producer who is no stranger to the realm of anime. His body of work, which spans over 40 years, has included Bleach, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Attack on Titan, to name a few. So onboarding him for the role of Music Director for the next Genshin Impact concert was a strong move that is sure to turn the heads of anime aficionados.
And there's a lot to get excited about, as Shagisu has collaborated with myriad popular bands, folk musicians, and artists from different backgrounds to deliver a concert that will put a unique and contemporary spin on the Genshin Impact soundtrack.
"The original Genshin Impact soundtracks fit perfectly into the actual in-game scenes and ambiance, and also provide much to imagine beyond the game," said Shirō Sagisu. "Together with the HOYO-MiX team and global artists, we've tried different touches to the music, weaving elements of pop music, rock, and jazz into it. Hopefully, we can create a refreshing and fun experience for the players."
The performances will also feature the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, who will deliver classic symphonies under the direction of award-winning conductor and composer, Eímear Noone. At this point, we all know that gacha games are the biggest cash cows, but it's reassuring to see the devs splashing the cash on ventures such as this.
This year's Genshin Impact Concert is named Melodies of an Endless Journey and will be hosted via the official Genshin Impact YouTube channel on October 2nd, 12:00 noon (UTC+8). As a game that aims to represent the wealth of cultures and religions found in the world of Teyvat through its music, we've no doubt that the event will be a musical odyssey that will be well worth checking out.
