Prepare for some hefty changes to the Gloria Victis combat systems.

Gloria Victis combat is getting a makeover with an update that will improve balance, and inject yet more realism into the low fantasy medieval MMORPG. Plus, players can enjoy an overhauled Supporter Shop and glow-up for the myriad critters within Gloria Victis.

For fans of all things Medieval, Gloria Victis combat is one of the title's most appealing aspects. In a game known for its realism, Black Eye Games excel in replicating the brutal tooth-and-nail scuffles of Medieval times. So a fine-tuning of the Gloria Victis combat mechanics is a welcome addition.

For instance, a rebalancing of heavy armor has ensured that it is now the most effective at defending against all types of damage, as opposed to being vulnerable to blunt damage. A change that should make the high-defense yet stamina-draining apparel more appealing to anyone looking to tank their way through a fight.

To reduce the OP nature of the two-handed ax, slashing damage inflicted from the side has been decreased. Meanwhile, two-handed swords have received a buff in the form of increased attack speed.

Archery has also been rebalanced by decreasing headshot damage and increasing damage to other parts of the body. Plus, shields will now block arrows whether they are being "used" or not. Simply having a shield at one's side or back, for example, will block incoming arrows from hapless archers.

Aside from combat, the new Gloria Victis update has also overhauled the Supporter Shop. Now, visitors will receive a weekly free gift just from poking their head in, and will be met with a shop that's far easier to navigate than before.

Finally, updates to animal models and textures will also contribute to that sweet, sweet realism, while Black Eye Games has ramped-up the number of daily PvP tournaments. We've got to test out those new combat mechanics, after all.
