The new Magic SMITE skins are a perfect pairing. And watch out for the new, but familiar, Hunter.
Watch: The Magic SMITE Crossover Grows Even Deeper
The five extra Magic: The Gathering God skins now brings the total tally of Planeswalkers to ten. The newest fusions are as follows:
Teferi the chronarc becomes Chronos, Keeper (and manipulator) of Time
Viven Reid, huntress friend of wild beasts, becomes Artemis
The Wandering Emperor, rightful ruler of Kamigawa, becomes Mulan
Nissa Revane becomes the Egyptian Goddess of Magic, Eset
Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God, becomes Tiamat
It's fair to say that these are pretty spot-on pairings, given the stark similarities between these Planeswalkers and their SMITE-based counterparts. Nicol Bolas and Tiamat, in particular, are practically one in the same. Suffice to say these should be pretty exciting additions to the SMITE gods' wardrobes for any fans of both franchises.
Players are now able to purchase these Magic SMITE skins directly for 1,200 gems, or in a chest for half the price. A new batch of free rewards also await players as part of the event, including cosmetics such as the "Nope" Global Emote. Perfect for when a counterspell stops an opponent dead in their tracks.
The legendary Manticore King Martichoras, the first-ever tutorial boss in SMITE ten years ago, is also enjoying some time in the limelight as the latest SMITE Hunter. First revealed in a pretty epic cinematic trailer a week ago, Martichoras brings long-range and high-burst skills to the arena. After years of featuring in cosmetics, maps, and even an April Fools joke video as the Manticore, it's now time for Martichoras to reap his revenge.
In an effort to give this MOBA mainstay his due, SMITE has even published a deep-dive on the newest Hunter. So give it a look if you want to learn some stuff today.
