Naomi Osaka is the Latest to Join the Fortnite Icon Series

Yet another high-profile celebrity has joined the Fortnite Icon Series, further pushing the likes of Facebook and Decentraland (ugh) aside as the foremost proponent of the so-called 'Metaverse' as it continues to turn everyone and everything into a Fortnite feature. This time, it's Naomi Osaka.
For those who are too busy gaming to follow tennis, Naomi Osaka is one of the biggest names in the sport right now and plays for Japan. The two-time U.S. and Australian Open champion is the latest star to feature in the Fortnite Icon Series, which has featured other sporting stars such as US basketball great Lebron James and UK football favourite Harry Kane.
Osaka - who is also a fashion designer, entrepreneur and Overwatch fan - will be playable with two outfits starting this Thursday 3rd March 7PM ET. These outfits consist of the Naomi Osaka Outfit - which matches the Royale Racket Pickaxe/Back Bling and the Queen's Cloudcarriage Glider - and the Dark Priestess Naomi Outfit - complete with Portalforger Paddle Pickaxe/Back Bling and Cursed Hazeboard Glider. The outfits represent Osaka's glowing tennis career and Haitian heritage, respectively.
Players will get a chance to unlock both new outfits and paraphernalia before they hit stores by competing in the Naomi Osaka Cup tomorrow, Wednesday 2nd March. Earning at least eight points will also 'net' players the Forbidden Ace Spray. The tournament will comprise ten Fortnite matches within a region's three-hour time window. These windows can be found in the Compete tab in-game.
Finally - to watch the superstar in action as she plays Fortnite live, players can tune in to berleezy's Twitch channel tonight at 7pm ET or midnight UTC. Which is unfortunate for European fans with a day job.
